YNW Melly Father released a remix to "Murder On My Mind" after news son may face Death Penalty

YNW Melly’s father released a song called “Melly On My Mind”, after hearing the news that his son will face the death penalty by the state of Florida. “I needed to get a message to my son to let him know how I feel”, says YNW Melly’s father. Cops say that YNW Melly and his friend, YNW Bortlin, shot victims Anthony Williams and Christopher Thomas Jr. in the head and back. Police have said that they believe YNW Melly and YNW Bortlin shot up their own car to make it look like a drive-by shooting. Then taking the victims to the ER where they dropped them off where the two members were pronounced dead.

YNW Melly (Jamell Maurice Demons) who was born on May 1, 1999, in Gifford, Florida, started posting his songs on SoundCloud when he was just 15 years old. In late 2015 he had a run in with the law and was convicted of aggravated battery, discharging a firearm in public and two counts of aggravated assault for shooting at a group of students near Vero Beach High School. Demons was arrested on June 30, 2018, in Fort Myers, Florida for possession of marijuana, possession of weapon or ammunition by a convicted felon and drug paraphernalia.He was again arrested on January 3, 2019, in Fort Myers for possession of marijuana.

According to new legal docs, the State intends to seek the death penalty against Melly. In the docs, the State says it believes it can prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Melly killed his friends for financial gain, the murder was especially heinous, atrocious or cruel, and he committed homicide in a cold, calculated and premeditated manner. The State also believes Melly is a criminal gang member.
